This recipe is a combination of my mom’s granola recipe, which she got from her mother, and a recipe I heard on one of Walter Veith’s videos. Which means it really is my own recipe, just that I used the others as a starting place.

Low-oil Granola

8 cups rolled or quick oats (I use quick)
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup shredded, unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup flax seeds
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar (I use raw)

Mix together well. In a blender, liquify:

1/4 cup oil (I usually use coconut oil)
1 banana
1/2 hot water
1 tsp vanilla

Pour this into the oat mixture and until all the oats are moist. Put onto cookie sheets (this fits well on one regular and one large cookie sheet–two regular ones would probably not be quite enough room) and bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container.
